Guest Chef
Grant Kawasaki

P.F. Chang’s Waikiki bridges cultures and taste buds through the launch of its new sushi menu that’s Asian-inspired and Hawaii-infused. The new sushi menu, created by Hawaii Chef Grant Kawasaki, is inventive, attentive and fresh.

“I chose many local ingredients including fresh fish, local produce, spices and sauces to create one- of-a-kind sushi rolls that blend Hawaiian and Asian culinary experiences to create sushi masterpieces,” explained Chef Grant. “My culinary concepts blend creativity and experience with traditional and nouveau sushi making methods. By combining unique local ingredients, such as kaiware sprouts, enoki mushrooms, kabayaki sauce, wasabi aioli and Inamona roasted kukui nuts, we’ve created a memorable dining experience for our customers.”

Born and raised in Honolulu, Chef Grant Kawasaki grew up having a love for food. He started his culinary journey during college, cooking healthy alternative dishes for his grandmother. Grant has apprenticed with many top chefs and restaurants to develop his own unique signature style.

Grant is also the host of two local cable network TV cooking shows, OC-16’s popular and highly rated Hawaiian Grown TV & Hawaiian Grown Kitchen.

Grant firmly believes that Hawaii has some of the world’s best culinary resources and dreams of Hawaii one day becoming almost fully fresh food sustainable. He also believes Hawaii, with its multicultural and multiethnic trained chefs, is the next culinary epicenter of the world.
